Let's make it simple...

Free Resources & Practical Guides

Green Flag or Red Flag

This lesson explores the characteristics of healthy relationships, starting with friendships as a foundation. Students identify qualities that contribute to positive relationships and learn to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy behaviours.

Friendship activities can be used with students from age 8, while optional activities extend the lesson to romantic relationships for students aged 15–18

Navigating Cultural Differences

This lesson explores how relationships and family expectations can vary across cultures, communities, and individuals. Students develop an awareness and appreciation of these differences while reflecting on how values and expectations can influence romantic relationships.

The lesson is designed for students aged 15–18, teachers should adapt discussions based on the maturity of students and the cultural context of the school community.

Top Tips for Talking with Teens

This handout was designed for use in a parent workshop to support parents with some simple guidelines on when and how to talk with their teenagers.

It can also be shared with parents alongside relationships and sexual health lessons to encourage meaningful conversations at home and help reinforce students’ learning.

Sample Parent Information Letter

This sample letter provides parents with an overview of the Year 7 Relationships and Sexual Health Education (RSE) programme, including the topics covered, how lessons are delivered, and guidance on supporting conversations at home.

It also includes practical conversation starters and information on how the programme aligns with international guidance and the school’s context.

Voice Led, Evidence Based

There is a substantial body of literature highlighting the importance of teacher voice in effective professional development (Barth, 1990; Bayar, 2014; Gruenert, 1998; Meister, 2010; OECD, 2019). In line with this research, prior to engaging in any of my services, staff are invited to complete a survey that provides an opportunity to share their perspectives on current provision and identify areas where further support would be most valuable. This approach ensures teachers feel heard, supported, and well prepared to deliver relationships and sexual health education with confidence.

In addition, staff and students are invited to complete a relevancy survey based on the learning objectives from the United Nations Technical Guidance. This helps identify the pastoral issues that feel most pressing within your school community. Combined with conversations with key pastoral leaders, this ensures the curriculum focus is thoughtful and purposeful. With time often limited in schools, this approach helps prioritise what matters most, so teaching time is used effectively and meaningfully.

Curriculum Review

The curriculum review service offers a supportive starting point for schools that may not yet be ready to engage in full curriculum design or redevelopment. It provides a clear, evidence-informed overview of your existing relationships and sexual health education (RSE) provision, making it particularly useful for school improvement planning or for supporting the lead PSHE or RSE coordinator within your school.

The review examines what is currently being taught and how it is structured, identifying strengths as well as areas where thoughtful adjustments could have a meaningful impact. Tailored recommendations are provided to help make the curriculum more coherent, effective, and clearly justified through evidence.
